SPEAKING.2010

10.6.10 “Self Tracking for Health” at HealthCampSFBay.
I’m going to try to find time to host one of the sessions during HealthCamp (if I can break away for a minute!) This talk will cover some the grassroots applications I’ve seen during the Quantified Self talks and how they have influenced health outcomes.

1.27.10 “The Dream Archive Interface” at the Quantified Self Meet-Up.
What would the ideal 3D life tracking interface look like? I took a look at some of the new technologies (mostly brewing out of MIT) and talked about them in the context of my Archive project. Here is my presentation on Kevin Kelly’s blog.

ACTIVITIES.2010

05.28-6.6.10 Inca Trail 4 Day Trek to Macchu Picchu – This was a 26 mile trek along the amazing Inca Trail in Peru. The highest point was over 14,000 feet!

05.23.10 Mt. Tam/Dipsea 16 mile hike – We did the whole Dipsea AND Mt. Tam which ended up being more like 18 miles. Feets hurt!

02.21.10 Pirate’s Cove 11 mile hike – Fantastic hike along the Marin Headlands until it really started to pour the last few miles.

02.07.10 Diablo Foothills 10 mile hike – Despite the super-sloshy ground and cow crap smatterings, the hike was really beautiful with perfect weather!

01.23.10 Cataract Falls 14 mile hike – We got through about half the hike and then Daniel’s knee kind of gave out and then we got totally rained on. Still, it was fun!

01.03.10 City hike – The first hike of the year…to the Presidio and back with Daniel :)

ORGANIZATIONS.2010

Neighborhood Emergency Response Team (NERT) - Daniel and I have decided that it’s better to be trained for a major earthquake rather than hanging around waiting for help to come (nod to Katrina and Haiti). This training was actually a heck of a lot of fun and now I know how to shut off the power, water AND gas in my building. Beware!!!
